Centre Manager

Chelsea is the Centre Manager, overseeing the Centre’s daily operations and actively contributing to its strategic direction. She works closely with staff and students to support research initiatives, encourage interdisciplinary connections and partnerships, and sustain a thriving and inclusive intellectual environment. Chelsea is also a 20th century historian specialising in the Second World War, the Holocaust, refugees, children and humanitarianism. She was formerly a lecturer at the University of Huddersfield and senior manager of a Holocaust charity. Her upcoming book The Exceptional Evacuation (McGill-Queens UP) explores the transnational humanitarian efforts to evacuate children to Switzerland during the Second World War. Chelsea loves building partnerships and networks with those interested in vulnerable communities, traumatic memories, and intangible heritage.
